Welcome to Solent View, Freshwater, Isle of Wight
Solent View is a family owned self-catering bungalow at Cliff End, Freshwater, situated on the Western side of the Isle of Wight, where the countryside meets the sea. Cliff End is very close to the historic and picturesque harbour town of Yarmouth which has a variety of excellent small independent shops, good quality pubs and restaurants, and is served by the Lymington ferry. There are bus links to the rest of the island.
The bungalow living room has stunning direct panoramic views over the Solent with the Needles in the distance, and you can watch the spectacular sunsets from the comfort of your armchair.
A five minute walk across Cliff End and Brambles Chine takes you to the sandy Seaside Award winning beaches of Colwell Bay, with an easy walk to the beach at Totland Bay. There are cafes along the way, and during the summer there are beach shops open for newspapers, buckets and spades and ice creams. Deckchairs, beach huts and water sports are available, and water safety zoning ensures that swimmers and recreational users are separated.
Cliff End, Isle of Wight, is a great base for water sports, including swimming, sailing, and wind surfing. Freshwater Bay Golf Club is nearby, set on the downlands overlooking the English Channel, and visitors are most welcome. Walkers are well catered for too, with over 500 miles of footpaths, and the more energetic may want to walk all or part of the 60 mile coastal walk around the islands varied coastline. Cyclists have over 200 miles of cycle paths and routes on the Island, including a 62 mile round the Island cycle route.
Bird watchers and nature lovers will find unspoilt peaceful countryside nearby, along with the dramatic and unspoilt coastline of West Wight.
